Bidule: A collection of books for beginner readers.
This graded collection, now available in digital version, has already proven itself with thousands of children. It allows young readers to develop their taste for reading and to become independent quickly.
Discover Bidule and his friends through the 3 free books offered. Later on, you can acquire the other books in the collection at very low prices!
The Bidule collection was designed by a teacher. How to turn learning to read into a rewarding and fun experience? How to make the child feel good and capable of learning to read? How to provide the child with a tool adapted to their learning pace? These are all questions that led the author to create this collection.
The collection is divided into three levels:
Level A: 1 sentence per page; 3 to 8 words per sentence; simple and repetitive sentence structure; simple vocabulary.
- The first 10 books use simple verbs. Only the pronoun "I" is used as the subject (e.g., I play ball). One verb per book.
- Books 11 to 15 use personal pronouns "he," "she," "they," and "they" (e.g., Bidule puts a cold bag on his head. He eats ice cubes.).
- Books 16 to 20 allow for the discovery of simple mathematical and spatial concepts such as "right/left," "forward/backward," etc. (e.g., Elliot is to the right of the sheep.). One book also covers numbers from 1 to 8.
Level B: 1 or 2 sentences per page; 4 to 9 words per sentence; simple and slightly repetitive sentence structure; short story.
- The first 10 books work on a particular sound, and all sentences end with that same sound. Rhyme is emphasized here. Books 1 to 5 focus on simple sounds like "an/in/on/ou/eau," while books 6 to 10 focus on complex sounds like "ette/ille/elle/ouille/eu."
Level C: 2 or 3 sentences per page; 4 to 10 words per sentence; more complex sentence structure; slightly longer story.
- Books 1 to 5 work on sounds like "f/ph," "s/z," "ch," "soft c and hard c," "soft g and hard g," placed at the beginning, middle, or end of a word.
- Books 6 to 10 introduce the reader to informative text through short stories on amusing themes.
